The AIA has an exciting opportunity to spotlight outstanding global architectural projects. Beginning Sept. 15, the AIA will be accepting submissions for the Design for Decades initiative. Projects will be displayed online in a virtual exhibition; selected projects can also be featured in venues such as AIA Headquarters, the 2011 National Convention, and in local chapters.
The purpose of this undertaking is to feature works of all scales and types that represent the scope and quality of work being done by AIA members. Entries including small, large, commercial, residential, public, private, interiors, historic preservation, engineering, landscape and urban design projects will be accepted.
Ultimately, this will highlight the excellent work done by AIA members and promote the value of design. It will also serve as a “snapshot in time” that can be viewed by future generations of architects.
Design for Decades is open to all AIA members including associate, international associate, and allied members.
Please note there is a $25 entry fee to be paid online. Each project requires a separate and complete submission and fee, with a limit of four per member or firm.
The Design for Decades site will be posted on www.aia.org on Sept. 14. Deadline for submissions is Oct. 27, 2010. Projects selected will be featured in a virtual exhibition and can be used for exhibitions in venues in the U.S. and abroad.
